How do you redact an email?
Export the email from your email client as a PDF or document format. Upload to VIDIZMO Redactor. AI detects PII across body, subject, headers, signatures, and quoted replies. Attachments processed separately through the same platform. Reviewer verifies. Output removes underlying text rather than masking visually. 
Can you redact an email in Outlook?
Outlook has no redaction function. Recalling is not redacting. PDF export with black boxes leaves data extractable. Dedicated redaction software is required to permanently remove sensitive content. 
Is blacking out text the same as redacting?
No. Black boxes over text in a PDF are visual layers. The original text remains in the file and can be copied or extracted. True redaction removes the underlying text from the file entirely. 
How are email attachments redacted?
Attachments (PDFs, Word, Excel, images, scanned letters) are uploaded and processed through the same redaction platform with consistent detection rules. OCR handles scanned and image-based attachments. 
Can redaction be undone?
 No. Redaction removes the underlying data from the output file. It cannot be recovered. The original unredacted source file is preserved separately if needed.
