Face Redaction Software Built to Redact Faces at Any Scale
Automatically detect and redact faces across video and images before public release, data requests, or compliance disclosures. VIDIZMO Redactor tracks every face through movement, crowds, and occlusion so organizations can share footage without exposing identities.
Organizations Ensure Data Privacy and Compliance with Our Redaction Software
Faces in Body Cameras, CCTV, and Meeting Recordings All Need Redaction Before Sharing
Body cameras, CCTV systems, dashcams, screen recordings, and meeting recordings all capture identifiable faces. Before any of this footage can be shared, released, or archived, every face that should not be visible must be redacted. Doing this manually, frame by frame, does not scale when the volume is hundreds of files across multiple sources.
What Makes Face Redaction Difficult at Scale
Tracking through movement and occlusion
A face that walks behind a pillar, another person, or a vehicle must be picked up again when it reappears. The tracker cannot lose subjects mid-scene or leave gaps in the mask.
Crowds with dozens of overlapping faces
Public spaces, transit stations, events, and busy interiors capture dense clusters of faces. Every one must be detected, even when partially visible or overlapping with others.
Low light, distance, and angle variation
Surveillance and dashcam footage is captured in poor lighting, at long distances, and from unfavorable angles. Detection must work across all of these, not just clean, well-lit, front-facing shots.
Audio PII alongside the video
Many recordings include audio where names, addresses, and other PII are spoken aloud. Redacting the video without redacting the audio leaves identities exposed.
Multi-camera and multi-file volume
A single incident can produce footage from five, ten, or more cameras. Each file must be processed. Doing this manually for every face in every file does not scale.
Consistency across every frame
If a face is detected in frame 1, it must remain masked in every frame it appears. A single unmasked frame exposes the identity the redaction was meant to protect.
How VIDIZMO Redactor Detects and Redacts Faces
Automatic face detection across the full video
AI scans every frame and identifies all faces present regardless of angle, distance, or scene complexity. No manual selection required.
Persistent tracking through the entire recording
Once detected, a face is tracked continuously across all frames it appears in. Movement, occlusion, and re-entry are handled automatically.
Selective redaction (keep one, blur all)
Designate one individual to remain visible. Every other face in the scene is masked automatically across the full duration.
Multiple redaction styles
Apply blur, pixelation, or black box to each face, with shape and size adjustable per detection to match the disclosure requirement.
Spoken PII redaction from audio
AI transcribes the audio track and detects spoken names, addresses, phone numbers, and other PII. Mute or bleep flagged segments alongside the video redaction in a single workflow.
Bulk processing for large volumes
Upload hundreds of files into a single batch. Detection settings configured once, applied across all files. Process overnight without manual intervention.
Industries That Rely on Face Redaction
Law enforcement and public safety
Redact bystander and witness faces in body camera, dashcam, and surveillance footage before public records release, court disclosure, or media sharing.
Government and public records
Redact bystander and employee faces in agency surveillance, public meeting recordings, and incident footage before responding to FOIA requests, civic disclosures, or inter-agency sharing.
Courts and judiciary
Mask witness, juror, and minor faces in courtroom video, video depositions, and evidence clips before sharing with opposing counsel, appellate review, or public release.
Transport and public transit
Mask passenger faces across station, vehicle, and terminal CCTV before responding to subject access requests or sharing incident footage.
Healthcare
Redact patient and visitor faces in facility surveillance and telehealth recordings to comply with privacy regulations.
Media and publishing
Blur faces of minors, witnesses, and uninvolved individuals in broadcast footage, documentary material, and published video content.
How Face Redaction Works in VIDIZMO Redactor
Step 1
Upload
Add video or image files from any source. Process individually, in bulk, or through API. 255+ formats accepted without conversion.
Step 2
Detect
AI identifies every face in every frame. Each detection is tracked across the recording and flagged with a confidence score.
Step 3
Review
Verify detections in-platform. Apply selective redaction if needed. Add manual masks for any faces the AI missed. Choose redaction style.
Step 4
Export
Download the redacted file with a full audit report documenting every detection, reviewer action, and timestamp.
